 Salem 150 th Anniversary Day Celebrations : Starts tomorrow

சேலம் நகராட்சி உருவாகி 150-வது ஆண்டு தொடங்குவதையொட்டி நாளை முதல் ஓராண்டுக்கு விழா நடத்த பல்வேறு அமைப்புகள் ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளன.

From tomorrow a one year celebration had been planned by many organizations to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of  Salem Corporation.  

சேலம் நகராட்சி கடந்த 1866-ம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 1-ம் தொடங்கியது. சேலம் நகராட்சி தொடங் கிய அன்றைய தினத்தை அடிப் படையாகக் கொண்டு, சேலம் தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் நவம்பர் 1-ம் தேதி பொதுமக்கள், பல் வேறு தொண்டு நிறுவனங்கள், அமைப்புகள் கொண்டாடி வரு கின்றனர்.

Salem Corporation was started in 1^st November 1866. On November 1^st,, every year many organizations and the public had been celebrating the “Salem Day”.

சேலம் தினம் கடந்த 1916-ம் ஆண்டு 50-வது பொன் விழா ஆண்டாகவும், கடந்த 1966-ம் ஆண்டு நூற்றாண்டு விழாவும் சேலம் நகராட்சி சார்பில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. தற்போது, 149 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவுற்று நாளை முதல் 150_வது ஆண்டு தொடங்கவுள்ளதை அடுத்து, பல்வேறு அமைப்புகள் சேலம் தினத்தை கொண்டாட சிறப்பான ஏற்பாடுகளை செய்துள்ளன.

In 1916, Salem Day Golden Jubliee (50th year) was celebrated. And in 1966 Centenary (100th year) was celebrated. Now 149 years had been completed  and tomorrow the 150^th year will start. Following this, many organizations had made special arrangements for celebrating the “Salem Day”.

இந்த ஆண்டின் சேலம் தினம் மக்களிடையே விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தும் விதமாகவும், பள்ளி, கல்லூரி மாணவ, மாணவியரிடம் நல்ல பல கருத்துகளை கொண்டு சேர்க்கும் விதமாகவும், வளமான நகரில் மக்கள் செழுமையாக வாழ்ந்திடும் வகையில் உறுதி ஏற்று விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடத்த திட்டமிட்டுள்ளன.

This year it has been planned to bring about awareness among the public, to convey many good information to the school and college students. Also many awareness programmes had been arranged for ensuring a prosperous living to all people in the city that has excellent resources.

கொண்டாட்டங்கள், களிப்புகள், புகைப்படங்கள் மட்டுமல்லாமல் சேலத்தை மீட்டெடுக்கவும், பொலிவுபடுத்தவும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் மக்கள் அமைப்புகளுடன் ஒன்றிணைந்து, அவர்களின் பங்களிப்பை அளிக்க அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

In addition to the celebrations, enjoyment and photographs exhibition,  actions had been taken to bring back the charm and beauty again to Salem. The public had been invited to get involved and collaborate in these activities.

இதன்படி, சுவர் ஓவியங்கள், அழிவின் விளிம்பில் உள்ள புராதன சின்னங்களை பாதுகாத்தல், சாலை ஓரங்களில் மரங்கள் நடுதல், நீர் நிலைகளை பாதுகாத்தல் என ஆண்டு முழுவதும் பல்வேறு அமைப்புகள் சார்பில் நிகழ்வுகள் நடைபெற திட்டமிட்டுள்ளன.

Following this, for a whole year, on behalf of many organization, many activities like drawing wall paintings, protecting and renovating heritage sites which are in bad stage,  planting trees in roads, protecting water bodies etc has been earmarked.

நாட்டிலேயே நகராட்சி சார்பில் இயக்கப்பட்ட முதல் கல்லூரியான அரசு கலைக்கல்லூரி வளாகம் மற்றும் சுவர்களை நாளை (நவ. 1) காலை 6 முதல் தூய்மைபடுத்தப்பட உள்ளது.

Following this, from tomorrow ( Novembe 1), the wall of the first Government Arts College run by the Corporation in the country, is to be cleaned.

தருநம், இன்டேக், சேலம் ட்ரீ கிளப், ரோட்டரி கிளப்புகள், ரவுண்ட் டேபிள், ஜேசீஸ், சிஐஐ’ இளைஞர் பிரிவு, வாசவி கிளப், வித்யாமந்திர் பள்ளி பழைய மாணவர்கள் சங்கம், கிளிக்ஸ் ஃபோட்டோகிராஃபி கிளப், வர்த் தகர்கள் சங்கம் ஆகியவை மக்களுடன் இணைந்து சேலம் தினத்தை கொண்டாடவுள்ளன.

Many organization like “Tharunam”, Intec, Salem Tree Club, Rotary Clubs, Round Table, Jaycees, CII Young Wing, Vasavi Club, Vidya Mandir Old Boys’ Association, Clickx Photograph Association, Merchants’ Associations had planned to celebrate Salem Day, joining hands with the public.

ஆண்டு முழுவதும் சேலத்தை பாதுகாக்கும் நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டு, வரும் 2016 நவ. 1-ம் தேதி, அப்பணிகளை தொகுத்து மிகச்சிறப்பான அளவில் சேலம் தினம் கொண்டாடப்பட உள்ளது.

Charting a year long agenda to protect Salem in many ways, from 1th November 2016, Salem Day is to be celebrated in a grand way.
