This article was written by my Online English student and sent to me in WhatsApp. Then I did grammar corrections and also added few sentences.

1) Since my childhood till today, every Saturday I will be going to "Permual Temple"  in Kumbakonam. 

என் குழந்தை பருவத்தில் இருந்து, இன்று வரை ஒவ்வொரு சனிக்கிழமையும் கும்பகோணத்தில் உள்ள  பெருமால் கோயிலுக்கு போவேன்.

Inside that temple there will be an elephant tied with chains. 

அந்த கோவில் உள்ளே ஒரு யானை சங்கிலிகளுடன் கட்டப்பட்டு இருக்கும். 

It will be standing and moving its ears and legs. Its movements will make noises from the big chain.

அடிக்கடி அதன் காதுகள் மற்றும் கால்கள் நகரும். அதனால் பெரிய சங்கிலி இருந்து சத்தம் வரும். 

2) That elephant's name is Ramu. I will keenly observe his activities. 

யானையின் பெயர் ராமு. நான் அதனுடைய செயல்களை கூர்ந்து  கவனிப்பேன். 

I would be thinking that only its body was big, but its behaviour was just like a child. 

அதன் உடல் மட்டுமே பெரியது ஆனால் அதன் நடத்தை ஒரு குழந்தை போல உள்ளது என்று நான் நினைப்பேன்.

3) Ramu's legs were tied with a big iron chain. 

ராமுவின் கால்கள் ஒரு பெரிய இரும்பு சங்கிலியுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கும்.

And the mahoot or elephant-tender held a small stick in his hand.  

யானை பாகன் தனது கையில் ஒரு சிறிய குச்சியையும் வைத்து இருப்பார்.

If that elephant thinks, it can easily break off from the chains and never bother about the stick in his hand.

அந்த யானை நினைத்தால் சங்கிலியில் இருந்து எளிதில் அறுத்துக் கொண்டு  போகலாம்.பாகனுடைய  கையில் உள்ள குச்சியைப் பற்றியும் அது கவலைப்பட  தேவையில்லை.

However, I feel that the elephant is bound by his love.

எனினும், யானை பாகனுடைய அன்பிற்கு கட்டுப்படுகிறது என்று நான் நினைக்கின்றேன். 

4) When the caretaker stands near Ramu, it will start playing with him.

பாகன் ராமுவுக்கு அருகில் நின்றால், உடனே அவருடன் அது விளையாட  தொடங்கும். 

5) To repeat, from antiquity to the present day, elephants are bound by love. 

மீண்டும் கூறினால், பழங்காலத்தில் இருந்து இன்று வரை யானைகள் அன்பிற்கு கட்டுப்படுகின்றன.

The elephants are one of the few animals that live in harmony with humans.

யானைகள் மனிதர்களுடன் இணக்கமாக வாழும் சில விலங்குகளில் ஒன்றாகும்.

6) Humans can keep one thing in mind and talk something outside, but this can't be done with an elephant.

மனிதர்களால் ஒரு விஷயத்தை மனதில் வைத்துக் கொண்டு வெளியே வேறு ஏதாவது பேச முடியும். ஆனால் இதை நாம் ஒரு யானையிடம் செய்ய முடியாது. 

This is because elephants are skilful in knowing our true feelings.

ஏனென்றால் யானைகள் உங்களுடைய உண்மையான உணர்வுகளை அறிந்துகொள்வதில் திறமையானவை.
